i believe in the philosophy of early to bed and early to rise. but for last few years i am not able to follow it. i think thats the case with many people. social media and TV has slowly and subtly made a big change in our lifestyle. watching late night TV shows, movies, surfing internet and job pressure has changed our sleeping times.
whenever i get up early in the morning then i feel very good. its like a fresh breeze of air for my lungs as well as for my mind. i cherish those days when i make the extra effort to get out of bed before sunrise.
what makes waking upย early morning so special:
1. silence – there isย no noise in the air. just pin drop silence or at the most chirping of birds which we all like. this is a big contrast to the noisy life which we have got used to in cities. early morning hours you get to experience calmness and peace.
2. fresh air – this is the time when there is minimum pollution in the air. good time to do exercise, jogging, pranayam or going for a walk. because you get to breathe the fresh air.
3. brahmamurthย – its the time which is ideal for doing any religious practice like meditation, yoga, pranayam, mantra chanting or any other spiritual practice. moreover most people are sleeping so there is not much psychic tension or thoughtsย in the air. so it is one of the best time to witness your mind or meditation or contemplate over real issues of life. if you want to think clearly without getting influenced by society opinion, then think early in the morning when most people are fast sleep.
4. aloneness – you are just with yourself. it is the best time to be with yourself and enjoy your company. just pure silence and you. if you love yourself then you must spend some time with yourself.
5. creative time – after a night rest your body and mind are charged. its a good time to do any creative activity or to think creatively. creativity is at its best at this hour. because the cosmos energies are also fresh after a deep rest in night. the whole life force of cosmos is rising to create life. why not ride on this energy?
6. sync with nature – we should always be in sync with nature forces to live a life of least resistance. the whole existence goes to sleep in night and get up in the morning. so if you want to fall in tune with the nature forces then consider getting up in the morning. this way you get in sync with the cosmic energies. it is best suited for your body, mind and soul.
7. efficiency – i have observed that when you get up early in morning then you end up achieving more things in the day. moreover the day also looks big. on the other hand, when you get up late in morning then the mind is not so fresh and its little sluggish.ย all this impacts your thinking and energy levels.
so getting up early in the morning has lot of benefits but just one disadvantage. that is you should be willing to leave the mad world of social media, TV, cinema and other such things which looks attractive but don’t add much value to your life.
